Outfit of the Day

The other weekend I visited Aberdeen, SD to see family friends and go to the Brown County fair. On the last day of our trip we went to Storybook Land. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I heard there was a castle there and thought it would be playground sized. I had this white dress packed that was inspired by 18th/19th century stays (ribbon ties that attach the straps to the front of the bodice and a lace-up back), so it felt serendipitous to wear standing next to this castle. When I got there I was blown away at the expansiveness and details of the park. The castle is big enough to show plays à la “Shakespeare in the Park”, numerous kids rides, and a yellow-brick road walking path that you have to experience yourself.

I was there around noon, so it was difficult to take the picture I had envisioned. However, I would love to go back with my nieces and nephew, and be prepared to take outfit pictures closer to golden hour. Maybe even do some light character bounding (especially if I’m there in October).
