Wearing an oversized oatmeal sweater with a pearl necklace, my favorite AE jeans, & brown ankle boots.
Nails of the Week

For these nails, I first painted on a pearl base then used a nail tattoo sheet on my nails. To use nail tattoos, you first need to cut a sheet into different sized rectangles/squares to fit your nails. If you have small nails like me, you should only need one sheet. Then fill a cup or bowl with a little bit of water (room temp is best). Take the clear front sheet off of a rectangle piece, dunk in water for a second or two (not long at all). Then carefully place & keep on nail for ten seconds. Beware, the second it’s stuck on your nail you won’t be able to move it! Once they’re all done I put top coat on so they wouldn’t wash off.
I like the extra shine the pearl gave to the nail tattoo, but for this sheet gold will always be my favorite underneath it.
Mini Shopping Haul

I went shopping downtown with a friend & found these two pretty items. I hope to wear the headband to next year’s 1920s themed New Year’s Eve party. I guess I’ll be working on planning my outfit around this for the whole year (my kind of fun). The blue under it is a long sleeved lace dress that I’ll wear this spring. I can’t wait for the snow to melt!
Outfit of the Day

The weather went above freezing yesterday afternoon so I took an ootd in my dressy winter coat! It’s a Betsey Johnson coat I bought at Marshalls a year & a half ago. I was going to do a post like this last year but wimped out from the cold & I’m glad I did because now I have this great blanket scarf to go with it!
Outfit of the Day

Wore this simple outfit to work this week. Blouse is from Target, pants are from Nordstrom (I think), & my favorite ankle boots are from Charlotte Russe.
Outfit of the Day

I wore this to a wedding rehearsal dinner Friday night. The dress is from a local boutique (sorry no link) with an old Bohme necklace & my favorite booties. For the actual wedding I re-wore this.
Nails of the Week

I went to a cousin’s wedding this weekend so I did a quick & simple design by painting my nails black, then using top coat to attach jewels in a half circle at the base of my nail.
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Just incase you missed my instagraming from last night, here’s a re-cap. I went to the coolest New Year’s Eve party I’ve ever been to that had a 1920s theme & wore my Halloween costume from last October (with more comfortable shoes). You can see the Halloween post [HERE].
I brought my mini 8 & posted some instants on my Instagram, @atraceoflace. (Thanks to my friend Carmen for asking a guy she knows from work to let me take a pic of his group in their great costumes, & thanks to Carmen’s boyfriend Sam for taking pics of me & Carmen.)
I also took one sneaky shot of this girls costume from the back with my phone & the picture turned out pretty great.
Outfit of the Day

I decided to mix textures with this look by wearing lace, knits, & a chambray shirt together. I love the results! I’m wearing my new tank top I bought on Black Friday under an old chambray shirt & sweater, with some Banana Republic over-the-knee socks (folded down twice), my Tin Missy boots found [HERE], & a vintage watch.
Outfit of the Day

Wearing my new blanket scarf with a Forever 21 shirt & some old boots.
Nails of the Week

For these nails, I used manicure stickers to block off the base of my nails. Then used my pearl colored polish. Then I used a little silver glitter polish to paint a thin line above the pearl.
Christmas Outfit

For Christmas I am wearing a sweater dress I bought at a local boutique with a vintage necklace & Charlotte Russe loafers.
