I received these nail stickers as a part of a Christmas gift and as soon as I saw them I knew I had to try galaxy nails to create the perfect background for these cuties. Thankfully, I already had a pack of disposable makeup sponges from when I did ombre nails to create this look.
For my base color I used a magnetic steel grey polish (anybody else remember when these were briefly popular 7 or 8 years ago? also can’t believe mine hasn’t gone bad yet!). Then I cut up a makeup sponge into 5 small pieces (I didn’t use the whole sponge).
Using a scrap of paper, I dropped one color a time on my “palate”, then sponged it onto a nail.
The colors I used were an icy blue, metallic lavender, blue, and a dark red violet. I used the colors in this order, then balanced them out by repeating some, or sponging on my base color.
Once I was done with my sponging, I used a glittery top coat. Then I used the nail stickers. I put some holographic silver stars on my middle and ring fingers, and used the black constellations on the rest.
The first time I tried this, I completely over did it on the sponging and there was no base coat to be seen. If you’re trying this for the first time remember less is more and you can always go back add more of a color.
