On the first day of our ski trip we actually went sight seeing. My family has a foreign exchange student and we wanted to show her as much of the US as possible, and because we live in the mid-west, we also wanted to do some typical snowy weather activities. So taking a ski trip to western South Dakota was the perfect fit.
Our main event on our sight seeing day was going to see Mt. Rushmore. I’ve personally seen Mt. Rushmore 2, maybe 3 times growing up but it was great being able to show it to someone new. It was also great to be there during the off season to avoid the crowds. As a kid, and as a shorter person, I remember struggling to get up front and looking beyond the barrier, and then having to move so others could see after just a few minutes.
