Nails of the Week

IMG_5922
I recently went to TJ Maxx and found a few beauty goodies including this full size Marc Jacobs nail polish for $2.99! Of course I had to test it out right away and use it in my next manicure. Honestly, I have to say it’s the best nail polish I’ve ever used, and to think I almost didn’t buy it. I thought I had a dark grey like this so I first thought I wouldn’t buy it and put it back, telling myself it was an impulse buy I didn’t really need. Hey, the sticker said its original price was $5, so I didn’t exactly know what I had. I was a little confused by the price though, I mean it is Marc Jacobs. Then remembering mine was getting old and tacky, I went back for it (thank goodness). If I ever see any others at TJ Maxx, I’m definitely jumping at the chance to buy more.

For this manicure, I first used this dark grey as a base then used my matte top coat. (Since I’m using a variety of colors in this manicure I decided to use my top coat after every step to prevent smearing.) Once dry, I used tape to block off were I wanted my white stripes and painted them on using my bottle with the thin brush. I peeled off the tape when they were dry and used matte top coat over the stripes. Then used my black nail polish with the thin brush to carefully fill in the black stripes on my thumb, middle, and ring fingers. With my pointer fingers I used tape again to block off the area for this stripe and painted it in. Once these stripes were dry I used matte top coat again over these areas.
