Outfit of the Day

This holiday look was inspired by a dress a blogger wore in an Instagram post I saw a few weeks ago. I love the mix of textures from the lace top, to the knit dress, to the velvet boots. At the last minute I grabbed the tie from a white button down shirt and tied it around the collar of my dress.

I’ve had the main pieces of the outfit in my wardrobe for a while, but I just bought the boots this Black Friday/Cyber Monday for 30% off the sale price. I absolutely love them. I’ve been wanting to add a velvet something to my wardrobe for over a year now, and have also been wanted grey boots since this fall, plus the studded buckles remind me of a pair of black boots that have been popular among bloggers last year. The one negative is that the tongues are not sewn in so they keep moving down and catch under my feet when I wear them. I’m pretty sure I can fix this with fabric glue, so I’m not too concerned about that.
