My favorite day in Austin was on Christmas Eve. For the day, I planned to wear a sweater like fringe tank top, high waisted pleated skirt, suede heels, star choker, and my box bag. Such a comfortable yet breezy outfit for the day ahead.
It was a beautiful 70 degree day and we started our morning having coffee at the Driskill hotel. After coffee, my sister gave our family a tour of the beautiful hotel from the 1880’s. It was the most gorgeous hotel I have ever seen and I enjoyed seeing the beautiful architecture and fine decorative details, including an antique phone that I found out the hard way actually works.
After wandering around the public spaces of the hotel, we drove to In-N-Out for lunch. We don’t have this burger chain in the Mid-West so when I realized there was one in Austin, I had to have my second burger from there.
We spent the afternoon at the LBJ museum, and afterwards got takeout bbq from Rudy’s Country Store and had a great Christmas Eve dinner at my sister’s place. After dinner we changed into matching flannel pjs, opened gifts, and watched an old Christmas movie on my sisters couch.
