This week I wanted to do a manicure using gold and beige so I thought it would be fun to do ombre nails.
I painted a base coat of beige first, then put tape on the skin around my nails. (The tape helps contain the mess when ombre-ing nails.) Then I took a disposable makeup sponge and painted on my gold and beige colors side by side. Working on one nail at a time, I sponged on my colors until I was happy with the ombre. Then I used a top coat to go over the nail and get rid of the sponge texture. Then repeated this process for every nail. Once they were totally dry, I add semi sheer nail stickers to my middle two fingers and painted more top coat so they would stay put.
Looking back, I really wish I would have used the gold as my base because I could not for the life of me get 100% of the pigment from ombre-ing. I’m sure if it were my base, it would be much stronger.
