Outfit of the Day

Last weekend my family and I went camping. We spent our days on the beach/lake, our nights by the campfire, and grilled out for every meal. I’ve spent so many childhood summers camping at this campground with my family, and now that my siblings and I are grown it’s so nice that we all found the time to meet each other here again.

At first, we thought we’d be spending the whole time out on the boat and weren’t sure if we’d be on the beach at all. So I had my sister take a few outfit pictures in the campgrounds near the lake while we were waiting for the boat to be ready to go (below you can kind of see the lake between the tree branches behind me). Once we got back from our extensive shoot (my sister had some great ideas), someone must have realized we had too many people to all be on the boat, so I eagerly volunteered to hang out on the beach. I can’t swim, so I prefer to be on the beach anyway, plus I wanted to get some cute beach pics for the blog.

It was a breezy partly cloudy day, so it kept changing between sunny and overcast. This was a little challenging, especially since I’m the only one who knows how to use a dslr camera in manual. My photographer (my mom this time) kept having to take a few pictures, then run back over to me so I could change the settings. With this constantly changing light I got a little nervous with how my photos would turn out and what type of lighting I’d end up liking best. So, I decided to quickly do a second round of beach photos, and had my friend take a few. I usually prefer to shoot outfit pictures when it’s overcast, but I ended up liking the sunnier pictures best.
